Salla- Finland
The mayor of Salla is Erkki Parkkinen.
Salla is located in North Finland, Lapland, above the Arctic Circle. Salla has the longest border of Finland´s municipalities with Russia, about 200 km. We have beautiful arctic nature, two National Parks and lots of international tourism and education.
Through participating in AMF we hope to:
– collaborate with other arctic areas and municipalities facing similar challenges and opportunities
– sharing and developing best practices
– find partners and financing for projects related to challenges and opportunities
– solve together common challenges such as climate change, attracting skilled workforce, education and retention of young people.
