Arctic Mayor‘s Forum will be present at the Arctic Circle Assembly in Reykjavík Iceland this month. Members of the AMF will participate in many of the sessions and events.

On Saturday, October 16, we have organized a plenary session in Silfurberg Hall at Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre. Our session is entitled “Arcic Cities Crisis Management: Lessons from Covid 19” and will be moderated by our chairman Ms. Ásthildur Sturludóttir, Mayor of Akureyri, Iceland.

Speakers in the panel are:

• Mirja Vehkaperä, Political Mayor of Oulu, Chair of the City Board, Finland
• Anders Josefsson, Deputy Mayor, City of Luleå, Sweden
• Jaakko Simonen, Associate Professor, Oulu Business School, University of Oulu; Member of Arctic 5 -Collaboration
• Jennifer Spence, Executive Secretary of the Arctic Council’s Sustainable Development Working Group

Of course Covid 19 is still making life different from what it was, but we know many of our members will be in Reykjavik and look forward to seeing each other.
